The primary goal of naturopathic treatment is to address the cause of an illness rather than simply treating or suppressing symptoms. While naturopathic care helps to alleviate specific symptoms, Naturopathic Doctors are primarily concerned with addressing the root cause.
Since 1992, Holistic Healing Arts has been providing the best in complementary health care. We have six licensed Naturopathic Doctors, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Reflexologist, and a Registered Massage Therapist.
Dr. Alfred Hauk, N.D. was born in Greifswald, Germany, and raised in Alberta, Canada. Dr. Hauk was introduced to the power of Naturopathic Medicine in his childhood. After a career change in the 1980s, he completed his pre-med program at the University of Alberta. In 1990, Dr. Hauk graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. Later that year he wrote and passed the Ontario provincial licensing exams.
Until his busy practice made it impractical, Dr. Hauk taught Nutrition and Biochemistry at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. He continued to work at the college teaching and supervising 4th-year clinicians for many years.
Dr. Hauk was on the board of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors for 9 years and was the Chair for over 4 years. He has also served as one of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Naturopathic Association, and the Board of Governors of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
He is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND),and is a professional member of the Institute of Naturopathic Education and Research (INER, the institute that operates CCNM and the Schad Naturopathic Clinic, the on-site teaching clinic at the college).
His years of experience in family practice have been an educational and fulfilling journey that has allowed him to help others with the tools of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Hauk lives in Brantford with his wife Paulette, where he is an active volunteer in the community.
A native to Brantford, Dr. Albano is honoured to be practising at Holistic Healing Arts and bringing Naturopathic Medicine to her home town.
After graduating from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with her Bachelor of Science in biology and pre-medicine (BSc), Dr. Albano went on to earn her Master of Public Health (MPH) at Drexel University's School of Public Health in Philadelphia. It was here that she was exposed to a preventative view of health care and, combining her love of nature and living naturally, returned to Canada to study Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Albano graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto in 2011.
As a primary care provider, Dr. Albano strongly believes in the naturopathic philosophies of treating the whole person, investigating and treating the underlying cause of disease, and individualizing treatment to the person.
Using a mix of naturopathic treatment strategies (nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, lifestyle counselling, homeopathy, intravenous therapy), Dr. Albano welcomes patients of any age and health concern, including digestive concerns, skin issues, body pains, thyroid concerns, female hormonal imbalances, and emotional coping. A former competitive softball player, Dr. Albano also enjoys working with local athletes to maximize athletic performance using natural means.
Dr. Albano is board licensed and a member of both the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). Dr. Albano is also licensed to provide intravenous (IV) therapy and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.
Dr. Albano resides in Courtland with her family and two corgis.
Dr. Onkar Singh developed his interest in Naturopathic Medicine from his dream of becoming a doctor, tremendous belief in the innate healing powers of the body and passion to serve humanity. He was born and raised in Brantford, and graduated from McMaster University in 1997 with an Honours B.Sc. in Biochemistry. Later, Dr. Singh pursued the four-year Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine diploma at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Onkar Singh is a holistic practitioner who utilizes all the modalities of Naturopathic Medicine and shows special interests in the areas of pain management, stress management, depression, and anxiety disorders. He has also conducted workshops and lectures on various health conditions, including stress management.
Dr. Singh is also certified in IV therapy, which enables him to support patients with their chronic health concerns such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, post-surgery recovery, low immune states, and more. Furthermore, he has been actively using the IV therapy as an addition to support and care for cancer patients.
For a decade and more, Dr. Singh has also been serving as a key member of the clinic faculty at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where he supervised 4th year clinicians in their internship programs.
Dr. Singh now resides in Brantford with his lovely wife, Baljeet, and their two children, Harsimran and Gurnirmal. He is also a distinguished and professional musician.
Dr. Simone Burke, N.D., a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor, uses advanced diagnostic techniques as well as eastern philosophies to provide a comprehensive approach to patient care. In addition to the treatment modalities studied at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, she also offers Bio therapeutic draining, Auricular therapy, and Bowen therapy.
Dr. Burke is passionate about working with you on your journey towards optimal health and wellness, and empowering you to achieve the desired results. She strongly believes that health and a feeling of vitality are important.
As a primary healthcare practitioner, she believes in spending quality time with each patient to not only manage the symptoms, but also to determine the underlying cause of health imbalances. Dr. Burke takes the time to listen, educate, and tailor each visit according to your requirements. Her view is that the person, physically, mentally, and emotionally, is vital when assessing and developing a treatment plan.
Dr. Burke resides in Brantford with her husband and their two children.
Alexis Cole is a registered Naturopathic Doctor who graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine’s four-year doctorate program. Her interest in Naturopathic Medicine stemmed from growing up on a medicinal herb farm just outside of Brantford. Her passion for naturopathy grew when she was in high school and she took part in a co-op at Holistic Healing Arts.
Alexis’ areas of interest include but are not limited to, working with individuals dealing with concussions, ADHD, autism, multiple sclerosis, and mental health. She also works with individuals suffering from PMS, menopause, thyroid, and gastrointestinal problems.
Alexis’ top priority is helping her patients reach their health goals by providing comprehensive treatment plans. The modalities she uses to treat her patients include dietary and lifestyle modification, acupuncture, botanical medicine, hydrotherapy, and nutraceuticals.
Alexis has a love for providing evidence-based individualized care while helping her patients to get to the root cause of their concerns.
Dr. Michèle Webb is a registered Naturopathic Doctor, who is passionate about optimizing the health of her patients. As a functional practitioner she believes that you deserve a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to your health that provides sustainable and long lasting results. Her goal is to help you gain control of your health, so you can get back to living your life to its fullest. Dr. Michèle Webb uses a combination of comprehensive lab tests, physical examinations and an in-depth health history to understand the root cause of your symptoms.This holistic approach allows her to curate an individualized treatment plan to address your health concerns, while also taking into account your busy lifestyle and goals outside of wellness. Overall, you can expect to feel listened to, empowered and educated throughout your visits with her.
Dr. Michèle Webb, completed her 4 year doctorate program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto of May 2020. She gradated at the top of her class, while also receiving multiple awards throughout her 4 years for her outstanding academic achievements. She has also successfully completed her pharmacology training and received her prescribing license. Her current educational pursuit is at the Institute for Functional Medicine, where she is focusing in advancing her techniques and approaches as a Naturopathic Doctor.

No stranger to complementary medicine and its positive effects, Sean Hauk has been involved with Holistic Healing Arts since his early teens working at the front desk and helping at the Naturopathic Dispensary. He has always been a proponent of Naturopathic Medicine and at one point had decided to follow the footsteps of his father, Dr. Alfred Hauk, N.D.
However, in his late teens, the performing bug hit him hard, and he has spent his last 18 years as a professional singer, dancer, and an actor. During this career, Sean was fortunate enough to work from one end to the other end of Canada from playing Gilbert Blyther in the Charlottetown festival Anne of Green Gables to playing Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. He has also enjoyed 4 seasons at the Stratford Festival and involved in numerous stage productions across Canada and the US.
It wasn't until later in life that Sean to pursue a career as a complementary medicine practitioner. He chose Manual Osteopathy, as he has always believed in the connectivity of the body's systems. It further appealed to him as it is proved to be an effective but non-invasive hands-on therapy. Sean Hauk completed his Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) from the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto. After this intense full-time accredited program, he graduated with honours having logged over 2,200 hours of education in the field of manual osteopathy, including 500 hours of hands-on classes. He is also a member of the Osteopathy Chronic Pain clinics of Canada, which has over 240 clinics across Canada.
Sean has been part of the Holistic Healing Arts team since October of 2018. He has enjoyed helping many people who have been in to see him. He is looking forward to helping many more as he continues to grow his practice here.
Emelia James, RMT, CPT has always had a keen interest in healthy living and has enjoyed educating and helping other people. Growing up, Emelia was heavily involved in the sport of figure skating. Throughout her time in the sport, she encountered various injuries that went both undiagnosed and untreated. She always felt that something more could have been done. This aspect of her life combined with her undeniable interest in the human body lead her to complete the Health, Wellness and Fitness program at Mohawk College in 2017, graduating with Presidents Honours. This was a great stepping stone and motivated her to find even more ways to help others, which sent her directly into the Advanced Massage Therapy program at Mohawk College, where she also graduated with Presidents Honours.
Emelia is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and is a member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO). Emelia is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer and finds that Massage Therapy and physical fitness go hand in hand. In her spare time, Emelia likes to exercise, read, and listen to various podcasts in the area of personal development. She has a strong belief that everyone should be living each day striving to be just a little bit better than the last.
Tracy Warrener Van Kruistum has been practicing Reflexology for over 25 years. She is a RCRT (Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist) and a member of the Reflexology Association of Canada. Throughout her years of practice, Tracy has worked in private in-home sessions, spa sessions to clinical and medical offices. She has also volunteered her Reflexology services to Shoppers Drug Mart Gala Fundraisers, been a guest speaker at Mohawk College many times and has her own Reflexology DVD which was produced in 2013. Her approach to her treatments is one of a holistic and overall total body experience. Tracy is also a certified Reiki master and enjoys combining the two therapies as she feels it provides a head to toe, mind, body and soul relaxation experience.
Tracy is a 4th degree black belt and has over 40 years experience in the Martial Arts. She was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in Los Angeles in 2013 for her work in educating women of all ages on self defense and assault prevention. Her program, Look Strong, Act Strong, Be strong, is something Tracy has taught women in the community, both in schools, businesses and in shelters. Martial Arts has been woven into her fabric since she was a very young and she uses her knowledge to help her clients with stretching and meditation exercises. Together with her Reflexology and Reiki experience, Tracy provides each client specifically with what they need to feel relaxed, balanced and rejuvenated.
Tracy lives in Brantford with her husband and has two stepsons. Tracy also has two cats named Mr. Miyagi and Sensei Kitty.
Vanda Godfree, Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.), has proudly been a part of the Holistic Healing Arts team since 2001. With her love of food and nutrition, Vanda went on to earn her professional RHN designation from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2003. Vanda was instrumental in co-creating our unique 12-week wellness program, The Renew You Strategy. In collaboration with the Naturopathic Doctors, she brings her expertise to helping clients reach their nutrition and wellness goals.
As the Store Manager of Holistic Healing Arts, Vanda is that friendly face ready to help serve our patients and customers. With a broad knowledge of all that our clinic has to offer, she can help guide you in getting the help that you need.
In addition, she is our Outreach and Promotion Coordinator, arranging all clinic lectures and events having to do with Naturopathic Medicine, Nutrition, and Health & Wellness.
